Just the most beautiful instruments I had ever played to that point.Īs a Strat player, the Andersons appealed to me - later we carried PRS and I thought they were of the same quality, yet I didn't like most of the PRS guitars personally as they seemed more of a Gibson style which for some reason I just couldn't bond with (though we had a semi-hollow that was just gorgeous sounding and looking). Years ago I worked at a guitar store and we sold them. The only reason I rated this a 9 instead of a 10 was because of the price and that I'm not a huge tele shape fan.I'm always surprised that there's not much discussion of them here.

The Cobra is a great guitar for those looking for an almost Les Paul kinda sound out of a superstrat guitar.

For whatever reason, their resale value is a bit weak, and I have no clue why. They can be a bit expensive when looking for one new, but check out used prices. If you're looking for one of the best guitars money can buy, you really need to get a Tom Anderson. These seem to work great from everything to jazz to all out metal. My favorite pickups that Anderson offers are probably the H1 and H3. The pole pieces are also oversized to help gather more magnetic field than normal pickups.

#TOM ANDERSON GUITARS COST FULL#
Anderson pickups are a more unique take on conventional pickups in that the humbuckers are actually two full sized single coils put together instead of the normal half sized that most people use. It has a strong low mid focus, but the Anderson pickups make everything sound extremely clear. The Cobra sounds very mean and fat sounding. The coolest feature is actually the Switcheroo system which really opens up tons of possibilities in terms of tone. The wedge that he makes means it doesn't shift like most other necks do. Tom Anderson is using a unique 2 bolt wedge joint that actually is more stable than nearly any other neck joint out there on the market. The necks come with tons of options that all feel wonderful, too. The fretwork on these things is just impeccable. Tom Anderson guitars are some of the best guitars put together in the entire world, bar none. However, the main features of every Cobra are a 24.75'' scale length, mahogany body with either a maple, walnut or koa top, and tons of other options that could really go on forever. Given that these are semi-custom guitars, they come with tons of options. It's a very unique guitar that takes on the Telecaster shape instead of the more famous Stratocaster shape. So think carefully!!Īmong the amazing guitars that Tom Anderson offers comes the Cobra. Very neat work guitar and very beautiful!!! Great tone!! However, before you decide to buy any new guitar you'd better try the stuffs like Gibson, Paul Reed Smith, Brian Moore, and whatever that you can try because these stuffs are fucking expensive. If you are rich enough, buy it!!!! You will be satisfied with it I'm sure. Very expensive!! I'm not sure whether is it worth my money or not!? If compare to Gibson or Paul Reed Smith I'm not sure that my guitar is better or not because the price is quite similar. Rich tone especially middle sound from mahogany body. Easy access to the deepest frest (22 frets). I am so lucky!!!!īeautiful guitar with maple on the top!!!! Great work!!! I like the neck that is not too big and not too thin. It cost me 1,700 US Dollars (this is the price before the economic crisis). I bought this guitar in 1997 at American Music, Seattle, USA.
